1. In the Javascript tutorials, read and try at least up through "Statements". Then _skim_ the tutorial pages from "Syntax" through "Assignment"; but you don't need to "do" them unless something feels unfamiliar or surprising (but most of the stuff in those is similar or identical to stuff you would know from Python and/or C++).
