CMSC 262: Data structures and algorithms in application
Fall 2024
Prof. Blaheta
Welcome to CMSC 262! This course is a survey of several important CS subfields for the intermediate CS major. Specifically, we'll look at a number of areas involving storing, processing, reasoning about, or reporting on knowledge and information—the sorts of tasks that require you to actually use some of the advanced data structures and algorithms that we've mentioned to you in earlier courses. It serves as prerequisite to electives in databases and artificial intelligence, but even a student who never takes those will have some understanding of their foundational principles, as well as those of some other subfields that we don't (currently) offer electives in.
This course is offered on MW at 4pm, in Rotunda 356.
